I’ve read somewhere that if you don’t need to step on the clutch to start your car then the installer messed up on the bypass cause the bypass should work ONLY when remote starting. I have a very nice viper 2 way xv that I took out of my truck and would like to use in my gto. The M module also monitors doors during the time when the engine is not running and disables remote start if the door was opened and there is a risk that vehicle was put in gear. Do you do that with out your alarm now? The module ensures that the end user of the system performs certain security steps, such as leaving the vehicle in neutral gear, before exiting with intent to remotely start the vehicle later.
If I cant get the remote start hooked up safely I will just sell it and buy a simple alarm instead. You must follow recommended safety guidelines rei installation and operation instructions.
I used to work as an installer so I have all these goodies allready If it works that way you should be fine. I’m wondering if this is a good device to use for remote starting my M If the doors are opened anytime before its remote started it will not allow a remote start. Originally Posted by dan7u.

But with the m I guess it only starts the car in neutral And will allow a remote start. Originally Posted by Somnus.

Any user assumes the entire risk as to the accuracy and use of this information. Also I need to get some bypass for my car, since it has coded keys. My concern would be if the module does not have a trigger input from the alarm thus the module not disabling the starter if the alarm is triggered via door or other sensor. The Neutral Safety Module for Manual Transmission Vehicles will allow you to perform safe installations of remote car starter and hybrid systems on manual transmission vehicles and provides a significant business opportunity to offer Directed systems to the market segment not reached by us before.
I would just have to make sure its in neutral. It works well, its just weird that I don’t need the clutch if i want to manually start my car. I live in FL so I really won’t use the remote start that much anyways. All times are GMT All rights reserved worldwide.

Only way to really know is to get the service manual and see de the vehicle even has one. If the car doesn’t have it built in which ours doesn’t or you don’t have a proper system, don’t do it. The time now is DEI M – Neutral safety switch, has anyone used one? The time now is Seems stupid to me to leave a factory key in the car. Posting Quick Reply – Please Wait.
